The artwork is printed onto the rear surface of the Polycarbonate and the ink is sealed in by the solvent based adhesive behind to enhance the durability of the labels. Printing on the rear enables the text to be viewed through the clear Polycarbonate. Either silkscreen or digital printing enables colours to be reproduced to the required specification and with the digital print option there is no limit to the number of colours that can be printed.
GSM also manufactures chemically etched 316 stainless steel nameplates for marine applications where the label needs to withstand the rigors of being permanently positioned outside in a marine environment such as an oil rig. These stainless steel nameplates are supplied with the text detail etched into the surface of the 316 stainless steel which means that, with no inks to wear, it is durable as can be. The surface of the stainless steel would need to deteriorate significantly to make the marine nameplate unreadable.
Our marine labels are also UV durable and so are also suitable for fitting onto life saving equipment used on boats, helicopters and oil rigs. The labels have been tested to the requirements of ANSI B71.4 to ensure that they legible for a minimum of 5 years.
Please contact our experienced technical Sales Team to discuss your marine label requirements to ensure that the labels that you buy will withstand the environment in which they will be used.
