Mark Capell

Mark is the General Manager at LISI AEROSPACE (BAIUK Ltd) Rugby, part of the French owned LISI Group. Holding a strong background in manufacturing and people management, Mark joined LISI in 2009 as a Production Manager and Six Sigma Black belt, where he specialised in developing new teams and restoring success to challenged departments. Since taking on his current role in 2020, Mark has been instrumental in building a network of technical experts and collaborators, including the University of Cambridge IFM and The University of Sheffield AMRC, to support the site's pioneering Smart Factory concept. Supported by ATI funding, Mark has led his team through the development of new I4.0 manufacturing processes equipped with a range of IIOT smart sensors and AI/Machine Learning capabilities which predict component quality and boost productivity. With a clear focus on people, Mark has amassed a wealth of knowledge on enhancing workforce skills to match the future needs of the business. Responsible for the introduction of gamification, organisational psychology and neuroscience, he has ensured workforce engagement, development, and motivation during technological and cultural transformations. Now in it's sixth year, the Smart Factory line and in-house developed Machine Monitoring System forms the template for similar new production lines across the group.
